MAUNDY THURSDAY - The Passion of the CHRIST
At the cry of the first bird
They began to crucify Thee, 0 Swan!
Never shall lament cease because of that.
It was like the parting of day from night.
Ah, sore was the suffering borne
By the body of Mary's Son,
But sorer still to Him was the grief
Which for His sake
Came upon His Mother.
The Crucifixion from “Hermit Songs” by Samuel Barber
O my Jesus
You suffered in ways we could never endure
to set us free from the slavery of satan
& all You ask of us
is that we will remember
& make the Way of the Cross with You.
Precious Savior, here I am,
holding Your Mother tightly in my arms...
wondering amazed, how She endured
to watch You suffer & die.
