"One person has died in a house fire caused by downed wires and more than 300,000 people are without power as Hurricane Irene moved toward Connecticut on Sunday. The fire occurred at 111 Clark Hill Road in Prospect around 5:20 a.m. when a tree in the front yard fell and pulled down the power lines, said Lt. P.J. Conway of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department. Two elderly people lived in the house, Conway said. One person escaped. A firefighter was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury for minor injuries after he touched the house and received an electrical shock. The occupant of the house was hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Trees and wires are down across the state, especially in shoreline towns and in southeastern Connecticut. Gov. Dannel P. Malloy closed the Merritt and Wilbur Cross parkways and has ordered a tractor-trailer ban on all roads in the state as of 7 a.m. All roads in Woodbury are closed, state police said. More than 300,000 people are without electricity across the state - especially on the shoreline - with more than 266,000 Connecticut Light and Power customers and about 60,000 United Illuminating customers in the dark."

August 25, 2011 Message to Marija from Our Lady of Medjugorje
"Dear children! Today I call you to pray and fast for my intentions, because Satan wants to destroy my plan. Here I began with this parish and invited the entire world. Many have responded, but there is an enormous number of those who do not want to hear or accept my call. Therefore, you who have said ‘yes’, be strong and resolute. Thank you for having responded to my call."
